Benny Boy Brewing’s 3rd Annual Corgi Derby Day — May 2

Benny Boy Brewing brings back its annual Corgi Derby Day just as Kentucky Derby fever hits Los Angeles, transforming the Lincoln Heights brewery into a playful race-day celebration. The third annual event features corgi races, festive Derby-inspired fashion and plenty of opportunities to cheer on the pint-sized competitors. Guests are encouraged to arrive dressed for the occasion, adding to the lively atmosphere as the brewery blends canine charm with classic Derby traditions.

Take 6 at Blue Note — April 30- May 3

Grammy-winning vocal group Take 6 brings its signature harmonies to Blue Note Los Angeles for a multi-night run ahead of the release of Rhapsody, the ensemble’s first new album in eight years. Known for blending gospel, jazz, R&B and a cappella precision, the celebrated sextet will showcase both classic favorites and newer material during the engagement, offering audiences an intimate chance to experience one of the genre’s most influential vocal groups live.

LACMA’s NexGenLA Celebration — May 3

LACMA opens its doors to NexGenLA members and their families for a day of art-filled exploration inside the museum’s new David Geffen Galleries. The celebration includes hands-on workshops, face painting and live performances designed to engage younger visitors while offering an early look at one of the city’s most anticipated cultural spaces. Running from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the family-friendly event turns a museum visit into an interactive afternoon of creativity and discovery.

Santa Monica International Jazz Festival — May 1-9

The inaugural Santa Monica International Jazz Festival brings live music to venues across the city, with performances unfolding at BroadStage, Third Street Promenade and other local spaces. Headlined by acclaimed saxophonist Kamasi Washington, the multi-day event celebrates jazz through a mix of concerts, community programming and outdoor performances that highlight Santa Monica’s growing cultural scene.
