Alive Together 5K — Sept. 27

Didi Hirsch brings its annual Alive Together 5K to UCLA on Sunday, inviting the community to come together in support of suicide prevention. The event raises funds and awareness for the organization’s Suicide Prevention Center and its lifesaving services.

Ggiata’s Melrose Hill Block Party — Sept. 26

Ggiata’s third annual Melrose Hill Block Party takes over Melrose and Western avenues from 4 to 10 p.m. Presented by Square, the neighborhood celebration brings together food, art and music, with highlights including a Ggiata x rocky’s matcha collaboration, an exclusive Ggiata x Porto’s sandwich, the Étra Meatball Eating Contest and the Taste of Melrose Hill Raffle.

Sada صدى / On Echoes Exhibition at Friday Gallery — Through Dec. 15

Palestinian-American artist Charles Karim Aweida debuts a new exhibition at Friday Gallery exploring themes of origin, inherited memory and absence. Through the lens of the Palestinian diaspora, Sada صدى / On Echoes examines the ways memory and identity endure across generations and distance.

New Balance at The Original Farmers Market — Sept. 26-27

New Balance is popping up at The Original Farmers Market, just steps from its new store at The Grove, with its Reconsidered program. Visitors can trade in gently used New Balance shoes for a voucher toward a new pair, with complimentary sneaker cleaning kits also available for trade-ins.

The Other Art Fair — Sept. 24-27

The Other Art Fair returns to Barker Hangar for its fall edition, bringing together works from 160 artists. Along with plenty of art to browse, the weekend features a Fair Lounge curated by Colette Dazé Semmel, personalized written fortunes from artist Gina Su, food truck fare and other interactive experiences.
