Connect with fellow creatives at the Los Feliz Writers Festival, catch UNIQLO and the Dodgers’ latest community activations, shop Black-owned businesses at the Prosperity Market Trailer Pop-Up or spend Sunday at the Los Angeles Kids Book Festival. Plus, step into the world of Miss Dior with an immersive pop-up at South Coast Plaza.

Los Angeles Kids Book Festival — Aug. 23

The free Los Angeles Kids Book Festival takes over West Hollywood Park from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a full day of family-friendly activities, including author panels, story time, food trucks, face painting, a foam party and more.

UNIQLO x LA Dodgers Kick Off Community Activations — Aug.20-23

UNIQLO launches its series of community activations this weekend, starting with the first of its weekly “academies,” where 50 rotating sixth-grade students will learn about the history of the Dodgers and Dodger Stadium. On Friday, 13- and 14-year-olds from the U.S. and Japan will take part in a skills clinic, followed by special fan experiences during Sunday’s Dodgers game against the Pirates.

Dior Presents: The House of Miss Dior Pop-Up — Through Aug. 31

The House of Miss Dior takes over Jewel Court at South Coast Plaza through the end of August with an immersive experience inspired by love and flowers. Visitors can explore the Miss Dior fragrance collection, watch a short film starring Natalie Portman and step inside an interactive photo installation.

Prosperity Market Trailer Pop-Up — Aug. 22

In partnership with SD2 and Supervisor Holly Mitchell, the Prosperity Market Trailer makes stops on Vermont Avenue and Central Avenue, showcasing products from Black-owned businesses including Farmer Ken, Sherman Produce, Papaw’s Organic Farm, Fun Time Kettle Corn and Alta Adams’ Smoked Oil. The first 100 households to visit each stop will also receive $50 in “Prosperity Bucks.”

Los Feliz Writers Festival — Aug. 19-23

The second annual Los Feliz Writers Festival returns with five days of free programming designed to bring writers together through workshops, performances and mixers. Highlights include a poetry showcase, creative writing workshop and tarot session.
